Designed to provide the very latest digital media technology throughout but in a very discreet way to be in keeping with the aesthetics of the apartment. This Crestron installation was designed for a client with very high expectations and a vast experience of Crestron digital media system installations in many of his other properties.
The Academy Gardens project was an entire system upgrade from a 2003 AMX analogue system to a Crestron Digital Media system installation, which included replacing all AMX parts with Crestron, replacing all televisions, sources, touch panels, iPod docks, receivers and VCR players with up-to-date equipment.
There are 25 sources and 14 room outputs including a media wall in the office and dual monitors in the gym, with integrated CCTV control, blind and curtain control, Lutron lighting, HVAC system, door entry and a fully managed IT infrastructure. Every area of the apartment has its own dedicated iPad controller, and the owner can control any element of his home remotely from anywhere in the world.
With a strict deadline of eight weeks from design to completion, this was quite a challenge for such a large project but with careful planning and installation, we were able to meet the deadline.
After five years of maintenance and support the client asked us back to upgrade the system to the latest 4K UHD video technology. This was easier than anticipated as the Crestron DM system we had installed five years previously was up to the demands of the new technology, and only required upgrades to specific components.
